Producing Furniture & Art – Dignity Art

In the last two and a half weeks, we have produced 20 pieces of art out of reclaimed wood (giving dignity and work back to a man transitioning out of homelessness). His name is Bruce, and he is building back the pieces to his life (literally)!

This past weekend, we had a follower reach out and say that she wanted us to see if we could make her two end tables. Well, below is a picture of what we produced today (Bruce & Terence).

With the help of people donating wood and a few tools, we are creating art and helping a man find dignity through work through a program we are launching in the fall called Dignity Art. If you would like to get our program to design you a piece of art, email us at info@lovebeyondwalls.org

Surpassing our goal

Yesterday, we reached a goal that many thought was impossible! We hit our annual goal and made over 275 people in less than four months with the Mobile Makeovers bus!

After two and a half months of laboring to get the bus ready, the bus hit the road in May and has been giving people dignity since that historical month!

Today, we will begin to blow this goal out of the water by making more people over and connecting people to resources that will help them become self-sufficient!

Below is a picture of our 275th makeover! Thank you if you gave to this project!

Bruce makes art – Dignity Art

Check out this video! It highlights what Bruce has done with the art he has been making! He has made a piece for #dignityart that says, “Keep Moving Forward.” It you make a bid, we can employ him for a days worth of work. See how this is helping him fight homelessness.

Getting Close to The Goal!

Several months ago, we had a dream! It was simple. Transform an old church bus into a mobile unit that will serve those who are in need. Months later, we have been on the road (two months) and have given out 166 makeovers (we are aiming to do 275)!

In fact, we have seen lives change and transform on the spot. Where does this lead? We are glad you asked. It is leading us toward our next program that will empower those we serve! Details will follow soon.

Check out some of the pictures below!

Lives Changing – RaurFest2015!

Yesterday, we got a chance to set up our mobile unit in the heart of Downtown Atlanta at #raurfest2015, and serve the homeless population while a live concert was going on inside GA Freight Depot! We were able to complete 17 makeovers, and connect those that we served to resources they needed most.

Additionally, students from c5 & Usher’s New Look collected over 30 boxes of donations for those in need. Below are a few pictures from yesterday!11401488_885939391443227_4923298895248372687_n11168432_885953858108447_3873036795507818289_n
